With Azure ExpressRoute, you can create personal connections between the infrastructure in an on-premises or co-located Batch environment and the Azure data center. ExpressRoute connections do not use the public Internet, are more reliable, faster, and have less latency than regular Internet connections. In some cases, using the ExpressRoute connection for data transfer between the on-premises system and Azure can be a significant cost benefit. With ExpressRoute, you can establish a connection to Azure from an ExpressRoute location, such as an Exchange provider facility, or connect directly to Azure from an existing WAN network such as a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) VPN provided by your network service provider.
